Team History
Coach Shap has coached at King's since 1994 (his first three years were as an assistant under head coach Russ Roberts).  2012 represents Coach Shap's 16th season as the head coach of the Knights and his 19th with the program.  Over the years the team has seen both sides of the win/lose column.  Shap's first head coaching year a very young team went 1-9.  Three seasons later that group of young players were seniors and in 1999 the team turned the tide to a 9-1 record.

Since then the team has appeared in the state quarter-finals four times and competed for the first time in the schools history in the 2A classification playoffs in 2005. Coach Shap has been voted Coach of the Year by the league in 1999, 2002, and 2008 - he also coached the East/West All Star "West Team" in 2002.

The team has been named  WIAA Academic State Champions in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011..  The 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons the team produced over 4,000 offensive yards each year, AP all state caliber players and put King's Football back on the Washington State Football map.
